Impact of Changes to Board Courier Service on PETL Operations

Posted: August 28,2014

News Category : PETL News

Below you will find an excerpt of information that the Board has recently posted regarding changes to their internal courier service.  This information should also now be in all schools, and information is also posted here under Files to the right.

We want to bring to the attention of members that these changes have the potential to have a direct impact on the amount of time that correspondence may take to arrive at the PETL office.  This is especially important to consider in order to meet PETL funding application deadlines.

PETL will receive courier service on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week while elementary schools will receive service twice per week.  Depending on a member’s workplace route/service days, we can foresee circumstances where correspondence being placed in a workplace courier bag may take up to 5 business days to arrive at the PETL office.  With this in mind, we strongly encourage members to allow for sufficient courier time when submitting applications to the Local.  However, please note that PETL Conference Funding applications may be submitted via fax, and PETL Course Funding applications may be submitted via email or fax.  All submission information can be found in the respective guidelines posted on our website.

N.B.  At this time, all applications for STPDL funding must be made with an original, signed form (i.e., no scanned or copied forms) and thus must be submitted to the Committee Chair through the Board courier system.

As part of the Board’s budget process, the frequency of delivery of courier service is being reduced to all locations.

Effective August 25, 2014, the courier delivery to schools and locations will be as follows:

Mondays and Wednesdays: delivery to Routes 1, 2 and 3.

Tuesdays and Thursdays: delivery to Routes 4, 5 and 6.

Fridays: delivery to trustees, all secondary schools, field offices and satellite locations.

Please note that the location numbers for Routes 1, 2, 5 and 6 have changed due to school closures and new school openings for September 2014.
