Issues with Peel Board Website – May 10

NOTE:  Due to the issues noted below, the deadline for submission of Administrative Placement forms has been extended to 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11.

As many members will recognize, the Board’s website went down yesterday afternoon.  While the Board has been able to rectify the issue for users at Peel worksites today, their site was unavailable overnight, and continues to be unavailable to internet users not at a Peel site.  The issue lies with major internet providers (Bell, Telus, Rogers, Cogeco) needing to update their DNS settings for the Board’s site.  All providers have been notified, but the Board has no control over or knowledge of when these companies will make these updates.

We are posting this information as the outage across major internet providers has had, and continues to have, an immediate impact on those teachers going through the Administrative Placement process today.

If you were affected by this outage last night, and are at a Peel worksite today, administrators have been asked to honour teachers’ requests for accommodations today in order to complete their placement form by the 4:00 p.m. deadline today. (Please note this deadline has now been extended to 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11).

If you are not at a Peel worksite today, and are still unable to access your placement form, vacancy lists, etc., please call the PETL office for direction (905-564-7233).

We are also posting updates on our Facebook and Twitter accounts for your convenience.
