To further support member learning and our commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, two FNMI online book clubs were developed in the 2015-2016 year. One of these book clubs, Perspectives and the Truth and Reconciliation will be provided for members online on November 1-29, 2016.

This four week online learning will provide members to learn about the diversity of Aboriginal peoples, perspectives, the residential school system and reconciliation. The sessions include opportunities to explore cultural values, the impacts of the residential school system, and reconciliation and what that looks like for educators. Children’s and adult literature, and online resources are included in this welcoming online learning environment that is aimed to engage members in critical thinking, rich dialogue and personal reflection and professional connection.

There are twenty online spots available and there is no cost to the members participating in the program. Members can print and complete the registration form by October 14, 2016. (http://www.etfo.ca/professionaldevelopment/etfoworkshops/pages/default.aspx).
