Status of Women Funding

The Status of Women PD Funding has now been exhausted for the 2011-2012 school year (July 1-June 30).

 

STATUS OF WOMEN PD FUNDING

The Status of Women Committee has set aside $25 000 for funding of conferences/programs which promote:
• Women in Leadership
• Women's Issues
• Equity

This fund will be available to Peel Elementary teachers on a first come basis, subject to eligibility and approval. There is an $890 limit (which may include up to three occasional teacher days at a cost of approximately $245 each day) while funding is available. The fund can only be accessed for one conference each year.

Examples of conferences and workshops that have been funded in the past include: 
 1) Aboriginal and Racial Minority Women's Leadership Conference (ETFO) 
 2) EQUITY in the Classroom, EQUITY in the Curriculum (York University) 
 3) ...And Still We Rise: A Leadership Conference for Women (ETFO) 
 4) Who, Me A Leader? (PDSB)
 5) Financial Management for Women

To apply, fill out the Status of Women PETL PD funding application form and include the conference information (e.g. flyer) and a copy of your STPDL application.  All applications MUST BE received in the Local office at least 10 school days before the conference start date.  The Status Fund can be accessed once per year while funds are available.
